Why aren't your Windows Media files Mac compatible?
At the moment, our Windows Media 9 video files are not
Mac compatible. We were lead to believe a Mac compatible
player would be released by Microsoft in March 2003 but
it has not yet arrived. Hopefully a compatible player will
be released very soon.

How will your Windows Media digital rights management (DRM)
system affect my access to 700k video files?
We are using the Windows Media digital rights management
system to protect our video content from piracy. While this
system should do a lot to protect our videos from theft,
it should not get in the way of your ability to view the
videos as often as you wish. To help make your experience
a smooth as possible, here are a few clues about how the
system works
a.
Whenever you view a 700k video for the first time, our system
will ask to verify your HotBOX login information and issue
you a license to play the video.
b.
After obtaining a license, you will be able to either stream
your 700k video or play your downloaded 700k video file
offline (without having to re-verify your license) up to
5 times over a one week period.
c.
Once either 5 plays or 7 days have passed, you will be asked
to re-enter your HotBOX login information and re-verify
your license. Once youve done this, you will, again,
be able to play the video 5 times over a one week period
without having to re-enter your login information.
d.
After downloading, you may transfer 700k video files anywhere
you wish (to a laptop, etc) but you will be required to
quickly re-verify your license before you can play the video
in the new location. This means, for instance, if you transfer
a video file to your laptop, youll need to connect
your laptop to the internet and verify your license before
the video can play. Once the license is verified, you will
able to play the video offline up to 5 times over a one
week period.

How do I download 700k Windows Media Files to my hard drive?
You can download the videos in two different ways. You can
watch and save them as progressive downloads or you can
save them directly to your hard drive for viewing later.
Method
1. To save directly to your hard drive for viewing later
follow the steps below:
Right click on the file you wish to download.
Choose "save target as".
Choose where you want to save the video on your computer.
Click "Save" to start the download.
The first time you go to play the file from your
hard drive you will be prompted for your HotBOX password
and issued a license. You will need to be connected to the
Internet to get the license.
Once you have acquired a license, you may play the
file offline up to 5 times over a one week period. After
5 plays or 7 days, you will be prompted to re-verify your
license and will need to be online to do this. Once your
license has been re-verified, you will again be able to
play the file offline up to 5 times over a one week period.
You may move files to different locations (your laptop,
etc.) as many times as you wish. But, you will need to re-verify
your license at each new location meaning you will
need to connect to the Internet to do so.
As long as your HotBOX membership remains active,
you will have unlimited video plays. You will simply need
to continue to re-verify your video license(s) when necessary.
Method 2. To watch and save as progressive download,
follow the steps below:
Click on the file you wish to download.
You will be prompted for your HotBOX password and
issued a license.
The video should start progressively downloading
into the cache on your computer and, once sufficiently buffered,
begin to play in your Windows Media Player.
While the video is playing, select File in the Windows
Media Player menu bar, then select "Save Media As."
Choose where you want the video to live on your computer.
Click "Save".
Once you complete your download, your license allows
you to play the file offline up to 5 times over a one week
period. After 5 days or 7 days, you will be prompted to
re-verify your license and will need to be online to do
this. Once your license has been re-verified, you will again
be able to play the file offline up to 5 times over a one
week period.

4.
Why am I asked to enter my password when I try to access
streaming 700k Windows Media files?
Our streaming 700k Windows Media Files, like the downloadable
files, are DRM protected and require that you verify your
membership and acquire a license before playing them. The
first time you access one of our 700k streaming Windows
Media videos, you will be prompted for your username and
password and issued a license. This license will allow you
to stream the file up to 5 times over a one week period.
After 5 plays or 7 days, you will be prompted to re-verify
your license and will once again be asked for your HotBOX
username and password. Once your license has been re-verified,
you will again be able to stream the video up to 5 times
over a one week period.

I keep losing my connection while downloading files and
I'm getting an error message that says "your connection
to the server has been reset." What should I do?
This can happen if your internet connection hiccups or fails
during your video download. If you are experiencing this
problem on a regular basis, the best thing you can do is
install a download manager to protect your download should
an interruption occur. You can find several download managers
to choose from, for example, on Download.com.

I am a VIP Member. When I try to view the 700k Windows Media
Player videos, I get an error message that either says "Sorry
your current membership level does not allow viewing premium
content" or "Incorrect Username and Password."
The Windows Media Player videos on our site are password
protected and require you, the member, to acquire a "license"
to view them. Your player will try to acquire this license
automatically when you try to view the video. If you have
your browser remember your codes for the site, you might
get a message saying "Incorrect Username and Password."
or "Sorry your current membership level does not allow
viewing premium content." To fix this problem, make
the following changes to the settings in your Windows Media
Player:
Under Tools -> Options select: Privacy
On the Privacy tab, under Enhanced Playback
Experience:
Make sure the box next to "Acquire licenses automatically
for protected content" is Unchecked.
Under
Tools -> Options select: Security
On the Security tab, Select Zone Settings
A box will come up asking if it's okay to change these security
settings, click OK.
Click on the Internet Icon and select Custom Level.
Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the window until
you see:
User Authentication:
Logon:
Choose "Prompt for user name and password"
Click OK, then click Yes when it asks you if you are sure
you want to change this setting.
Follow this same procedure for Local Internet, Trusted Sites
and Restricted Sites.
