I can't seem to get the videos to work at all. Are there
setting changes I can make to my Real Player?
Here are a few setting changes that may improve your video
viewing:
a.
Select Tools from your Real Player toolbar, then Preferences
then General and try clearing your History. This will delete
any unnecessary information being stored in the memory of
your player that could slow down the video processing.
b.
Make sure your configuration settings are correct in relation
to your connection speed by double clicking Connection and
making the following adjustments:
For
Real Player 8
Under the "Connection" tab and then "Normal
Bandwidth" select the appropriate bandwidth for your
ISP (usually this is at least 200kps). Under "Maximum
Bandwidth" select "10Mbps LAN". Under "Buffered
Play" select "Buffer entire clip to available
memory". Then hit "OK" and restart your computer.
This should allow for the appropriate amount of data to
stream through your Real Player.
For
Real One Player
In the Real One Player go to "Tools" then click
on "Preferences" then select "Connection"
on the left side. Click on "Bandwidth" and select
the appropriate bandwidth to your system. Under the normal
and maximum bandwidth sections choose "10Mbps LAN".
Then hit "OK" and restart your computer. This
should allow for the appropriate amount of data to stream
through your Real Player.
c. Check the Playback Settings (Under Connection) and select
your preferred buffering time.
d.
Under Internet Settings, make sure the box next to Enable
Cookies is checked and select any of the other settings
in this section that you prefer.
e.
Check your Http settings in the Proxy section. If you don't
know what your appropriate settings are, try selecting "Use
System Internet Connection proxy settings."
Make
sure you click OK after every change you make and restart
the player before trying to view a video again.
